The Avett Brothers

“Hold Going”

Faculty rock followers north of fifty are effectively conversant in the band Guster. The quartet has been an alt-rock staple for over thirty years, and this month they drop “Ooh La La,” their ninth LP (and first in over 5 years). Jacob Joliff 

 “Vera”

Jacob Joliff is a monster on the mandolin. The Berklee grad, former member of Pleasure Kills Sorrow and Yonder Mountain String Band, and present touring companion of the likes of Tony Trischka and Bela Fleck, is releasing a brand new set of instrumental acoustic tunes this month. “Vera” is the primary single from “Instrumentals Vol. 2: Mandolin Mysteries,” and it’s breathtaking in each its complexity and wonder, with Joliff’s mandolin dancing observe for observe with George Jackson’s fiddle in what can solely be described as a grasp class in acoustic songwriting. – D.S.

Eels

“Goldy”
